Call for papers Studii de lingvistică vol. 7/2017, thematic issue
Coordination: Luis Meneses-Lerín (Université d'Artois, Arras)

The journal Studii de lingvistică is the linguistics journal of the Faculty of
Letters of the University of Oradea, Romania. It is an annual publication
which comes out in the last trimester of each year and includes articles and
reviews from all the fields of linguistics, in thematic issues or varia.
Issues 1/2011, 2/2012, 3/2013, 4/2014, 5/2015 and 6/2016 are available at
http://studiidelingvistica.uoradea.ro/arhiva-ro.html.

Issue 7/2017 welcomes submissions on the topic ''Online corpora and lexical
resources: a new language heritage?'' (Corpus et référentiels en ligne : un
nouveau patrimoine langagier ?).

Corpora group together various kinds of data (written, oral, iconic, etc.)
which can be exploited by the new data processing technologies. Setting up
corpora, with a scientific aim, enables to apprehend various discourse genres:
historical, media, literary, social, cultural, scientific, institutional,
academic and professional discourse, using authentic and contemporary data.

In other words, corpora are more than a mere tool; they introduce a new
paradigm into human sciences and more precisely into linguistic studies. Their
exploitation enables researchers to perform more advanced analysis not only
from a lexical, morphological, syntactic, semantic or pragmatic perspective,
but also in the field of discourse analysis (observation of recurrent
phenomena, collocations, fixed expressions or idioms, text typology, analysis
of subjectivity, analysis of polarity, etc.).

The present issue addresses the adaptation and the appropriateness of
linguistic methods and approaches applied to corpora as well as mono- and
multilingual lexical resources obtained from corpora exploitation (glossaries,
databases, electronic dictionaries, online dictionaries, linguistic analysis
tools, etc.). As corpora/lexical resources are precious tools for linguists,
the way in which linguistics interferes in their construction, development and
exploitation will also be dealt with.

Languages under scrutiny: Romance and Germanic languages.

Varia articles may also be accepted as well as book reviews.
