Description:
The American University of Sharjah, an internationally ranked and accredited
American-style university of 6000 students in the United Arab Emirates, seeks
full-time faculty members in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics to teach
courses in the undergraduate linguistics program, Academic Writing, and ESP,
as well as in the MATESOL program, in the Department of English. Candidates
should hold a completed Ph.D. in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics.
Applicants with specialization in such areas as Psycholinguistics, Cognitive
Linguistics, Semantics, Sociolinguistics, and Second Language Acquisition /
TESOL are especially welcome.
Successful candidates will have a strong record of excellence in teaching,
ongoing scholarly publication, and a demonstrated commitment to productive
institutional service. The University is fully committed to equal opportunity
