Meeting Description:

We invite you to the 5th Patras International Conference of Graduate Students
in Linguistics (PICGL5) which will be held at the Conference and Cultural
Center at the University of Patras, from 25 to 27 of May 2018.

The aim of the conference is to bring graduate students (MA and PhD) together,
from all over the world, in order to present their research interests and to
exchange ideas.

Graduate students (MA or PhD) in Linguistics are encouraged to submit an
abstract (up to 500 words) of their original research work in any field of
linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics,
historical linguistics, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics,
psycholinguistics, computational linguistics, lexicology, lexicography,
language acquisition, language teaching, etc.). Send your abstract until the
30th of September 2017 to picgl5 at upatras.gr.

We would like to announce the names of the invited speakers who have accepted
our invitation to give a plenary talk in our conference:
- Prof. Peter Trudgill (Fribourg University)
- Prof. Brian D. Joseph (Ohio State University)
- Ass. Prof. Panayotis Pappas (Simon Fraser University)
- Dr. Marios Andreou (University of Duesseldorf)


Call for Papers: 

Guidelines to participants:

The email message containing your abstract should be of the following format:

- Email subject: Abstract submission.
- In the email text you should provide the following information: 1) name and
surname, 2) affiliation (Department and University), 3) email address (the one
you check regularly), 4) the title of the paper, 5) the area of research (e.g.
syntax, phonetics, psycholinguistics, etc.) and 6) how you wish to present
your paper (i.e. talk or poster)
- Abstract (up to 500 words, references excluded) should be sent as Word
(.doc) or PDF attachment. Do not forget that the abstract should be anonymous.

Important dates:

Abstract submission deadline: September 30, 2017
Notification of acceptance: November 15, 2017
