Call for Papers:
The last decade has witnessed important developments in cognitive linguistics,
as seen in the cross-linguistic study of constructions, constructional change
and constructionalization, interaction between constructions and pragmatics,
Cognitive Grammar’s attempt to unify structure, processing and discourse,
simulation and fictivity, the relations between grammar, subjectivity and
intersubjectivity , the relations between conceptual meaning and other levels
of language, the relations between cognitive and socio-cultural factors, the
neural theory of conceptual metaphor, the neural perspective of grammar, the
relations between empirical methods and theoretical research, among other
topics. We deem it necessary to have an accurate understanding of the spirit
of these recent developments and controversies and a deeper appreciation of
their practical value in promoting the development of cognitive linguistics
and their application to diverse languages.
We welcome research papers on the aforementioned topics or any other relevant
topics as well as overviews of these new areas in cognitive linguistics.
Papers focusing on languages or dialects other than English or Mandarin
Chinese are especially encouraged. Please submit your abstracts to
FrontiersCL at 163.com
