The School of Humanities (SoH), NTU Singapore, pursues disciplinary excellence

The Centre currently offers electives in 16 languages (Arabic, Chinese,
French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Malay, Russian,
Singapore Sign Language, Spanish, Swedish, Thai and Vietnamese) and there are
plans to increase the number of languages offered. The Centre places great
importance on enhancing the intercultural knowledge and skills of the learners

Lecturer in Arabic (3 years renewable contract)
We are seeking an experienced lecturer capable of teaching introductory to
advanced Arabic to tertiary students. Knowledge in current trends in
second/foreign language teaching methodologies is preferred. Candidates should
have proven track-record in teaching, curriculum design, multimedia course
materials development and knowledge of new technologies in language
instruction. The position is offered on a three-year renewable contract basis.
Selection Criteria:
- Postgraduate qualification in one or more of: Second Language Acquisition,
Arabic Linguistics, Teaching Arabic as a Second Language
- Native proficiency in written and spoken Arabic
- Experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching Arabic preferably at
tertiary level
- Experience in developing Arabic language materials, including e-learning
materials
- Experience with multimedia and computer-based instructional technologies
- Ability to coordinate large courses
- Good command of English

Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and
