Meeting Description:
The 5th combined conference for the Applied Linguistics Association of New
Zealand (ALANZ), Applied Linguistics Association of Australia (ALAA) and
Association of Language Testing and Assessment of Australia and New Zealand
(ALTAANZ), jointly supported by The University of Auckland, University of
Waikato, and venue host, Auckland University of Technology.
Call for Papers:
Submission Strands:
We're accepting abstract submissions in the following strands:
1. Language learning & teaching
2. Language testing & assessment
3. Teacher education / cognition
4. Academic literacies / EAP
5. Second / Foreign language acquisition
6. Corpus linguistics
7. Discourse analysis
8. Language policy and planning
9. Language, identity and power
10. Bi & multilingualism
11. Issues in applied linguistics
Submission Types:
The conference is accepting submissions for the following presentation types:
1. Oral Presentation
2. Workshop / Colloquia
3. Poster Presentation
Oral Presentations - 30 minutes:
All oral presentations should be a total of 30 minutes which consists of 20
minutes presentation, 5 minutes Q&A and 5 minutes to move between
rooms/presentations.
Workshop / Colloquia - 60, 90 or 120 minutes:
All workshops and colloquia should be a total of either 60, 90 or 120 minutes
(including time for Q&A and movement between rooms/presentations) and aimed at
providing opportunities for panel and audience participation, or shared
presentations, interaction and discussion around a theme or topic.
Poster Presentations:
All posters will be on display throughout the conference as well as having
dedicated author presentation/Q&A times. All posters are to be A0 in size,
displayed as portrait or landscape, and printed by the author/presenter.
