Meeting Description:
The Centre of Linguistics of the University of Porto (CLUP) is organising the
International Conference in Honour of Professor Óscar Lopes on the centenary
of his birth. This tribute to the founder of CLUP and distinguished linguist
will be on the 6 and 7 of June 2017, in the Faculty of Arts of the University
of Porto.
The main scientific areas of this Conference are: Semantics, Pragmatics and
Discourse (the research areas of Professor Óscar Lopes), but also Phonology,
Historical Linguistics, Morphology and Syntax. However, works in other areas
of theoretical and applied linguistics are welcomed as well.

2nd Call for Papers:
The main scientific areas of this Conference are: Semantics, Pragmatics and
Discourse (the research areas of Professor Óscar Lopes), but also Phonology,
Historical Linguistics, Morphology and Syntax. However, works in other areas
of theoretical and applied linguistics are welcomed as well.
Important dates (new):
Deadline for proposals submission: 27 March
Review of the proposals by the scientific committee: 28 March to 27 April
Notification of evaluation: 30 April
Submission Format:
Abstracts must be anonymous, and should be limited to a maximum of two pages
of text, including references. They can be written in Portuguese, English or
French. Pages should be A4, with 2,5cm (1 inch) margins, and a font size of
12pt (Times New Roman), single spacing.
