Description:
The Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, in The College of
Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University, invites applications for an
Assistant Teaching Professor of Spanish, who will also serve as the Spanish
Language Coordinator, non-tenure track. Ph.D. required in related fields.
Position will be hired on a three-year term contract with the possibility of
renewal. Expected to work during summer when necessary. This is an academic
year appointment, with additional compensation for summer work. Appointee must
be available to start summer work July 17, 2017, with academic year
appointment to start August 21, 2017.
The successful candidate will coordinate all matters related to lower division
courses (100-, 200-, and 300-level courses) which include developing
curriculum, supervising adjunct faculty and teaching assistants, and teaching
a 1/1 load. Additional administrative duties as assigned by department chair,
include, but are not limited to, placement exam administration, professional
development leadership and participation, advising, and committee service.
