Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in TESOL/Applied Linguistics/Language Education
or related field is required by the start date. Applicants must have evidence
of effective teaching and demonstrated potential for scholarly excellence.  
 
Applicants should have an awareness of and sensitivity to educational goals of
a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study,
training, teaching and other comparable experience. They should also have a
strong commitment to teamwork and collegiality. 
 
Preferred Qualifications: A technology focus vis-à-vis language education
(TELL/CALL).  
 
Responsibilities:  1) Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses
that will prepare students to exploit technology in language education. 2)
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in TESOL pedagogy (including methods
and practicum in the MA TESOL program) as well as upper division and lower
division general education courses and other courses, as needed in the
Department of Linguistics and Language Development.  3) Advise students and
assist with program coordination and development.  4) Serve on department,
college and university committees. 5) Effectiveness in academic assignment,
scholarly, creative and professional activity, and
department/college/university service are all required to achieve tenure and
promotion. 
 
Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity –
in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language and academic
preparation – through course materials, teaching strategies and advisement. 
 
Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.  
 
Starting Date: August 17, 2018.   Eligibility:  Employment is contingent upon
proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
