Description:
The Faculty of Languages and Literatures, Department of English and American
Studies, invites applications for a Junior/Assistant Professorship for
empirical approaches to English (W1) from April 1, 2018.
We seek candidates that work on English grammar with a strong empirical
orientation (experimental or corpus-based). The Junior Professor is expected
to collaborate with the two other professorships in English Linguistics as
well as to intensify the links with empirically oriented research within the
Faculty. The successful candidate is also expected to complement existing
competences in all study programmes for which the institute is responsible.
There is an evaluation after 3 years, successfully evaluated junior professors
are granted an extension of their contract for another three years.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for Junior professorial
appointments in
accordance with § 102a of the Higher Education Law of the state of Berlin
'Berliner Hochschulgesetz'.
HU is seeking to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching,
and
specifically encourages qualified female scholars to apply.
Researchers from abroad are welcome to apply.
