An der Philosophisch-Historischen Fakultät der Universität Basel ist zum 1.
Februar 2019 eine Assistenzprofessur für Iberoromanische und allgemeine
Sprachwissenschaft (befristet auf 5 Jahre) zu besetzen.

Ihre Aufgaben:

Wir suchen eine Persönlichkeit, die dieses Fachgebiet in Lehre und Forschung
vertreten kann und dabei eine angemessene Breite und
theoretisch-methodologische Vielfalt aufweist. Eine Ausrichtung auf
Varietätenlinguistik, Sprachkontakt, Migrationslinguistik und Global Spanish
ist wünschenswert. Von der im Departement Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaft
angesiedelten Professur erwarten wir Anschlussfähigkeiten zu den Bereichen
Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft und Sprachgeschichte/Historische
Sprachwissenschaft sowie eine aktive Mitwirkung am fachübergreifenden
Masterstudiengang Sprache und Kommunikation, am Doktoratsprogramm
Sprachwissenschaft der Hermann Paul School of Linguistics und am
gesamtuniversitären Schwerpunkt European and Global Studies.

Bewerberinnen und Bewerber sollen sich durch ausgezeichnete internationale
Publikationen ausweisen, über Forschungserfahrung im Anschluss an ihre
Promotion verfügen und einen Projektvorschlag vorweisen, der zur Förderung
eingereicht werden kann. Bewerbungen sind möglich unabhängig davon, ob eine
Habilitation vorliegt, und es bestehen keine Einschränkungen betreffend der
Anzahl Jahre ab Promotion.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Basel
invites applications for an Assistant Professorship in Ibero-Romance and
General Linguistics, starting 1 February 2019. This non-tenure position is for
five years only.

Your position

Candidates for this assistant professorship are expected to be able to perform
teaching and research duties in the discipline and to practice a wide range of
theoretical and methodological approaches. Research interests in language
varieties, language contact, the linguistics of migration, and global Spanish
are desirable. The successful candidate for this professorship in the
Department of Linguistics and Literature is expected to reach out to and draw
on the fields of general linguistics and language history/historical
linguistics, as well as to be an active participant in the interdisciplinary
Master's program in Language and Communication, in the doctoral program in
linguistics of the Hermann Paul School of Linguistics, and in the European and
Global Studies focal area of the University of Basel.

Your profile

Applicants should have an outstanding international publication record,
post-doctoral research experience and a project proposal that can be handed in
for funding. Applications are possible whether or not candidates have
completed a habilitation. There are no limits regarding how many years have
passed since the completion of the doctorate.
