Founded in 1994 and awarded the University title in 2016, The Education
University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is a publicly funded university, dedicated to
the advancement of learning and teaching through a diverse offering of
academic and research programmes up to doctoral level in teacher education and
complementary disciplines.  For more information about the University, please

The Department seeks applications for a full-time academic position at the
rank of Assistant/Associate Professor (Ref: AsstProf/AssoProf/LML/0418). The
appointee is expected to be an active researcher with research expertise in
first/second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, be able to conduct
research that leads to publications in leading international journals and
successfully acquire external research grants.  He/she will also be engaged in
programme development, departmental and Faculty services such as research and
publication activities. 

He/she will be responsible for teaching courses in both undergraduate and
postgraduate levels, such as English grammar, English phonetics, Intercultural
communication, Sociolinguistics, Discourse analysis, Psycholinguistics, Child
language development and Second Language Acquisition. Applicants with very
strong track records can be considered for the rank Associate Professor.  

Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in Linguistics preferably with good
training and experience in teaching linguistics courses. Those with a relevant
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or QTS recognized by the Education
Bureau of Hong Kong will be preferable. Proven evidence of strong publication
record and external competitive grant record will be an advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.  Fringe benefits
