Description:
The Department of Linguistics at Yale University invites applications for a
full-time Lector in American Sign Language to begin July 1, 2019. The initial
appointment will run for three years, and is potentially renewable. The Lector
will offer 5 courses in ASL and will be responsible for the continued
development of the ASL curriculum. The successful applicant will have
completed an MA or PhD in ASL, language teaching, linguistics or a related
field, will have experience in teaching ASL in an academic setting, will have
native or near-native proficiency in ASL, and will have excellent command of
written English
Applications for this position should be submitted at the website indicated

- A statement laying out the applicant's teaching philosophy and experience,
- Evidence regarding teaching effectiveness (e.g., course evaluations or
supervisor reviews), and
- Two letters of recommendation.
To ensure full consideration, applications should be submitted by January
20th, but later applications may be considered until the position is filled.
