Meeting Description:
The Linguistics Department at the University of Florida invites you to attend
the 5th Florida Linguistics Yearly Meeting, to be held April 5-6, 2019 in
Gainesville, Florida. FLYM is an annual conference which brings together
researchers at all stages of their careers to share current work in
linguistics. FLYM has rotated around the state since 2010. This year’s
conference focuses on the strengths of the UF Linguistics Department: the core
areas of linguistics, experimental linguistics, sociolinguistics, and language
documentation. As the United Nations has named 2019 the International Year of
Indigenous Languages, we are particularly encouraging papers in the
conference’s theme, indigenous languages. Papers in other areas of linguistics
are also welcome.
Keynote Speakers: Dr. Jessica Coon (McGill University) and Dr. Hannah Sande
(Georgetown University)
Call for Papers:
We invite abstracts for FLYM 2019 for 20-minute oral presentation (plus 10
