The University of Braunschweig (Germany) is organising a summer school
“Linguistic Theory in Second and Foreign Language Teaching” that will take
place from August 31 till September 4, 2018.
The school brings together research in experimental linguistics and most
successful practices in teaching second/foreign Language. The school offers
keynote lectures by distinguished scholars from the USA, Germany and the UK
and guided working sessions in English and German.
We are inviting both young and experienced scholars in applied linguistics to
share their professional knowledge and head a 2-hour workshop in one of the
following areas of studies:
- Current trends in practice of teaching languages
- Applied linguistics: from theoretical assumptions to increased language
proficiency
- Research methods in second/foreign language acquisition
- Insights from research in second/third language acquisition and their
applicability in teaching
- Theories of grammar in language teacher training
- Proficiency assessment and language competence
- Corrective feedback and increase in language proficiency
The chair of the session manages a thematic discussion and give a talk that
may include a practical component.
