Description:
As an Associate Linguist, you will be performing semantic and syntactic
analysis on linguistic data. You will also contribute to a number of other
tasks to improve natural language understanding systems.
The tasks include:
- Annotating and reviewing linguistic data
- Context-free grammar analysis and design
- Applying semantic, syntactic and morphological labels to text
- Annotating lexical features
- Error analysis for current system outputs
- Deriving NLP data for new and ongoing projects
Job requirements:
- Native-level speaker of Arabic (Saudi Arabia, Algeria or Morocco) and fluent
in English
- Degree in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics
- Experience in annotation work
- Knowledge of semantics and syntax
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts; learn in-house tools
- Keen interest in technology and computer-literate
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Able to multitask effectively, and adjust smoothly to changing priorities
Location:
This is a full-time contract position. Work will done be from our office
located in New York City, NY, USA.
Project estimated duration: 12 months (with potential for extension). This is
a fixed-term contract, not a permanent position.
