The Department of Linguistics at the University of Chicago invites
applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Researcher position appointed at the
rank of Instructor in syntax, expected to begin September 1, 2018, or as soon
as possible thereafter. The Postdoctoral Researcher at the rank of Instructor
will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of
expertise (including a General Education undergraduate course in the
Humanities), to supervise graduate and undergraduate student research, to
participate in the intellectual life of the Department, and to engage in
scholarship and research training. The teaching load will be 4 courses per
year (the University of Chicago is on a quarter system). We seek scholars with
strong research abilities, and previous teaching experience at the University
level is highly desired. Candidates are required to have completed the PhD by
the position's expected start date.

three references. Teaching evaluations (or teaching portfolio) may also be
