Meeting Description:
The Department of Theory and Practice of the English Language will hold its
7th Annual International Conference on linguistics and humanities ''Young
Scientists in Innovative Research'', which is due to take place at Minsk State
Linguistic University оn May 23-24, 2018.
Languages of the conference are Belarusian, Russian and English.
Call for Papers:
Topics may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Linguistics of text and discourse
- A word in the lexical system and discourse
- Relations of language signs in the sentence and discourse
- Models of speech behaviour in different types of discourse
- Contrastive linguistics and issues of translation
- Problems of automatic text processing
- Modern literature and translation
- New technologies in teaching foreign languages
Submission Guidelines:
Participants are expected to send a filled-in application form (see Appendix
1) and their papers as 1 file to the e-mail address translengl at mslu.by until
April 25, 2018.
The name of the file should contain the author’s name and the institution
he/she represents, e.g. “Ivanov MSLU.doc”.
In follow-up of the conference a collection of articles will be published.
No Registration Fee.
Papers should be submitted in Belarusian, Russian or English as a Microsoft
Word document. The paper should comprise minimum 3 single-spaced pages in
Times New Roman 14pt font. All margins – 2 cm. Paragraph indention – 1 cm.
(see Appendix 1).
Examples in the text in all languages should be italicized, the meanings of
words should be typeset in upright font and put into single quotes, e.g. der
Tisch ‘the table’.
References should follow the text be numbered in the order they are mentioned
in the text. In the text in square brackets there should be the number of the
source and after a comma – the number of the page, e.g. [1, p.3].
Papers should consist of the introduction; the body, including graphs and
other supporting data (if necessary); the final part with succinct
conclusions. The texts should be closely read by authors; all the quotes
should correspond to the sources.
Authors should also submit an annotation placed after the title before the
text of the paper (100-150 words).
