37th AESLA international conference - Valladolid 2019
27-29 March 2019
The 37th International Conference of the Spanish Society for Applied
Linguistics (AESLA) will be held next 27-29 March 2019 at the Palacio Conde
Ansúrez in Valladolid (Spain). It is organized by scholars and researchers
from the departments of English, of French and German, of Spanish and of the
Didactics of Language and Literature from the University of Valladolid. It is
coordinated by the UVALAL (University of Valladolid Language Acquisition Lab)
research group. The theme for the AESLA 2019 conference is bilingualism and
languages in contact. This year's edition intends to address the study of
bilingualism in its different dimensions and through the use of multiple
methodologies and formal accounts as used by researchers in the field. We
target the linguistic phenomena that emerge when more than one language
interact in the mind of bilingual speakers with different linguistic profiles
and how this evolves during their life span.

El 37º congreso internacional de la Asociación Española de Lingüística
Aplicada (AESLA) se celebrará del 27 al 29 de marzo de 2019 en el palacio de
congresos Conde Ansúrez de Valladolid. Lo organizan profesores e
investigadores de los departamentos de Filología Inglesa, Filología Francesa y
Alemana, Lengua Española y Didáctica de la Lengua y la Literatura de la
Universidad de Valladolid y está coordinado por el grupo de investigación
UVALAL (Laboratorio de Adquisición del Lenguaje de la Universidad de
Valladolid). Bajo el lema bilingüismo y lenguas en contacto, el objetivo de
AESLA 2019 es ahondar en el estudio del bilingüismo en sus distintas
dimensiones a través de las múltiples metodologías y propuestas teóricas
utilizadas por diferentes investigadores. El foco se situará en los fenómenos
lingüísticos que se producen cuando distintas lenguas interactúan en la mente
de los hablantes bilingües con distintos perfiles y durante las distintas
etapas del proceso de adquisición-aprendizaje.

Call for Papers:
Proposal submission:
The three categories of proposals are: individual papers, posters and
round tables. Submissions may be related to the conference main theme
and should fall within the scope of any of AESLA’s
10 scientific panels:
1. Language acquisition and language learning
2. Language teaching and curriculum design
3. Languages for specific purposes
4. Language psychology, child language and psycholinguistics
5. Sociolinguistics
6. Pragmatics
7. Discourse Analysis
8. Corpus linguistics, computational linguistics and linguistic engineering
9. Lexicology and lexicography
10. Translation and interpreting
Anonymous abstracts should be up to 500 words in length (including
references). The languages of the conference are English and Spanish.
Conference Presentation Policies:
Individuals may submit a maximum of one abstract as first author,
whether a paper or a poster, and one abstract as co-author.
Evaluation of proposals:
Proposals will be evaluated in terms of quality, significance, originality,
thematic relevance, and presentation. They will be sent for expert evaluation
(double blind peer review) by the coordinators of AESLA’s 10 scientific panels
depending on the topic.

Call for papers: to be sent no later than September 17, 2018
Proposal submission: 17 September – 29 October 2018
Notification of acceptance/rejection: 7 January 2019
Registration (early bird): 7 January 2019 – 3 February 2019
Registration (regular): 4 February 2019 – 3 March 2019

Propuestas:
Hay tres formatos de propuestas: comunicaciones, pósteres y mesas redondas.
Las propuestas pueden estar relacionadas con el tema del congreso y deben
enmarcarse en uno de los 10 paneles científicos de AESLA:
1. Adquisición y aprendizaje
2. Enseñanza de lenguas y diseño curricular
3. Lenguas para fines específicos
4. Psicología del lenguaje, lenguaje infantil y psicolingüística
5. Sociolingüística
6. Pragmática
7. Análisis del discurso
8. Lingüística del corpus, computacional e ingeniería lingüística
9. Lexicología y lexicografía
10. Traducción e interpretación
Las propuestas no deben superar las 500 palabras (bibliografía incluida).
Las lenguas oficiales del congreso son el inglés y el español.
Normas de presentación:
Cada participante puede enviar un máximo de 2 propuestas: una como primer
autor y otra como coautor, tanto si se trata de un póster como de una
comunicación.
Evaluación de propuestas:
Las propuestas se evaluarán según su calidad, implicaciones, originalidad,
relevancia temática y presentación. Serán enviadas a evaluación doble ciega
por pares por parte de los coordinares de los 10 paneles científicos de AESLA
según la temática en la que se encuadren.

Envío de propuestas: 17 septiembre – 29 octubre 2018
Notificación de aceptación: 7 enero 2019
