Description:

The Crowd 9 Project Manager works with researchers and engineers, managing
data collection, integrating machine learning principles for efforts around
Natural Language Understanding, Spoken Language and Machine Learning research
projects to achieve high quality data output.

Work will be done from our office in New York, NY. This position is for ~6
months, and up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:
- Project management, including gantt charts, tracking milestones and
deliverables, planning projects, and estimating timelines
- Writing and maintaining guidelines and definition for project design 
- Managing vendors and/or contractors working remotely
- Managing priorities of multiple projects and ensuring milestones are met
- Working with team leads to define and promote best practices
- Wearing multiple hats and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced,
changing environment
- Executing established projects with minimal guidance from higher-level team
members
- Anticipating issues and proposing solutions, improving tools and processes
- Working with a distributed team on international projects spanning multiple
time zones
- Traveling abroad for data collection in the field

Job Requirements:
- Native-level command of English
- Master’s degree or higher in linguistics, NLP, or related field
- 2+ years’ experience managing complex projects
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent creative and strategic problem-solving skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to travel occasionally

Nice to Have Skills/Not Required:
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience with large-scale data collection or data annotation
- Experience with international operations, managing remote workers
