Description:

Job Purpose:

To lead the University’s research and teaching in Applied Linguistics within
English Language & Linguistics. The Senior Lecturer or Reader will
specifically lead, design, and convene a new international Masters programme
in Applied Linguistics and an associated international Summer School. The
post-holder will also undertake and promote international research within the
College of Arts and play a vital role in leading the agenda of the School of
Critical Studies and the College of Arts, in line with the University, College
and School strategic objectives. 

Two further posts will be appointed for this international Masters by an
interview team which will include the successful candidate for this post.

Further Details:

The salary will be on the Research and Teaching Grade, level 9, £50,618 -
£56,950 per annum

*The University may exceptionally appoint on the following contribution
points: £58,655 - £62,219

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities'
Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available
from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions
relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.

All research and related activities, including grants, donations, clinical
trials, contract research, consultancy and commercialisation are required to
be managed through the University's relevant processes (e.g. contractual and
financial), in accordance with the University Court's policies.

Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period
of 6 months.
