Description:

The school are looking for a Lecturer in Sociolinguistics, you will be
expected to contribute to a Stage 1 module introducing quantitative approaches
to variation and change, as well as to a Stage 2 module on sociolinguistics
and the sociology of language. The opportunity will also exist to design and
deliver a specialist module at Stage 3. Lecturing staff in addition
participate in the School’s thriving postgraduate culture by teaching on MA
programmes and supervising PhD students.

You will have a PhD in a relevant subject area and experience in undergraduate
teaching of sociolinguistics and language variation and change, as well as the
fundamentals of linguistics as a subject area. An excellent publication record
for your career stage and the potential to make a significant contribution to
the research culture of both the School and our Faculty are essential.
