Meeting Description:
The 2019 edition of the annual Conference on Mathematical Foundations of
Informatics is intended to add synergy to the efforts of the researchers
working on the development of the mathematical foundations for computer
science, also known as informatics. The previous edition can be found here
http://mfoi2018.math.md. Round tables are planned to ensure an open debate on
the state of the art and new directions of research and cooperation.
All accepted papers will be published in Proceedings of the Conference, which
will be handed over to participants on the first day of the conference. The
selected papers will be also published after the conference in the CSJM
(Computer Science Journal of Moldova - indexed in Mathematical Reviews,
Zentralblatt MATH, Clarivate Analytics/Web of Science (ISI), MathSciNet, DBLP,
DOAJ, EBSCO) or in the Bulletin of Academy of Sciences of Moldova, ser.
Mathematics (indexed in Mathematical Reviews, Zentralblatt MATH, SCImago
Journal Rank (SJR), Russian RZh Matematika).
The sponsors will offer two prizes for two best papers of young researchers -
one for a purely mathematical treatment, and the other for a treatment which
has or is promising to have applications in natural language processing. The
prize winner papers will be marked up in Proceedings. The information about
prize winners and interviews with them will be published in mass-media and a
CD with this data will be handed over to the winners.

MFOI2019 will be organized by the Faculty of Computer Science from the
Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iaşi, the oldest higher education
institution in Romania. Since 1860, the university has been carrying on a
tradition of excellence and innovation in the fields of education and
research. With over 24.000 students and 800 academic staff, the university
enjoys a high prestige at national and international level.
Social program:
Our sponsors will facilitate our informal communication by several activities:
- Each evening they will arrange an outing to nature or in a summer-house,
