Focus: LOT's winter school covers all major areas of linguistics and teaches a wide range of methodological tools and theoretical frameworks.

Description:
The LOT Winter School 2019 is hosted by the University of Amsterdam (UvA). The
programme contains 18 courses on a wide variety of relevant topics in
linguistics, taught by researchers from all over the world. The levels range
from introductions to a particular subfield to highly specialized courses. In
addition to the regular courses, which are open to both RMA students and for
PhD students, there will be 4 Research Discussion Groups just for PhD
students.
Courses will be taught by Hamida Demirdache (Syntax), Roumyana Pancheva
(Semantics), Sharon Peperkamp (Phonetics/Phonology), Dirk-Bart den Ouden
(Neurolinguistics), Elena Tribushinina (Language acquisition / disorders),
Sible Andringa (Bilingualism), Asli Özyürek (Sign language /
psycholinguistics), Arjen Versloot (Historical Linguistics), Costas
Gabrielatos (Language Use), Paul Vogt (Language Acquisition), Marina
Terkourafi (Sociolinguistics), Christina Bergmann (Advanced statistics),
Antske Fokkens (Computational linguistics), Eva Schultze-Berndt (Typology),
Simon Garrod (Psycholinguistics), Susanne Brouwer (Beginners statistics),
David Weenink (PRAAT scripting), Sebastian Nordhoff & Antonio Priemer (LaTeX
for linguists).
As well as these master classes, there will be discussion groups for your own
PhD research, poster sessions, a public lecture by Sharon Peperkamp and a
range of social events.
