Description:
The Département de linguistique et de traduction is seeking applications for a
full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in
computational linguistics/natural language processing.
Responsibilities:
The appointed candidate will be expected to teach at all three levels of the
curriculum, supervise graduate students, engage in ongoing research and
publication, and contribute to the academic life and reputation of the
University. This person will play an important role in the development of the
“Computational Linguistics” component of our curriculum and in establishing
cross-disciplinary collaborations within and outside of the University.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in linguistics, computer science, or a related field.
- Dual training in linguistics and computer science, with a strong background
in core linguistics.
- Demonstrated interest in using computational techniques in the study of
language.
- Ability to teach in at least one of the core domains of linguistics.
- Excellent publication track record in computational linguistics.
- University teaching experience.
- Sufficient knowledge of written and spoken French.
