Description:

The Research Group of Dr. Mingya Liu at the Institute of Cognitive Science
invites applications for 1 Research Assistant (PhD or Postdoc) to be filled as
soon as possible on a fixed-term basis until September 30, 2020. 

The position will be part-time (65%); salary and social benefits are
determined by the German public service pay scale (E13 TV-L).

Description of Responsibilities:
The position involves participation in the research activities within the
DFG-funded research project The Semantics and Pragmatics of Conditional
Connectives: Cross-Linguistic and Experimental Perspectives. The project
investigates the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic properties of conditional
connectives in different languages with a focus on English, German and
Mandarin Chinese. Responsibilities include particularly the investigation of
conditional connectives in formal semantic and pragmatic frameworks using
psycholinguistic methods (comprehension, production, EEG). The position does
not involve teaching obligations.

The project is one of the participating projects in the Priority Program
XPRAG.de (http://www.xprag.de).

Required Qualifications:
Applicants are expected to have an excellent academic degree (Master/Diploma)
in cognitive science, linguistics, cognitive psychology, or related fields.
They should have experience in formal semantics and pragmatics, as well as
psycholinguistic methods. A good command of English is mandatory. Knowledge of
German or Mandarin is not required, but is a plus.
