Meeting Description:
The UW-Madison Linguistics Students Organization invites submissions for
papers to be presented at the 16th annual Workshop in General Linguistics
(WIGL 16), to be held Saturday–Sunday, March 30–31 at the University of
Wisconsin–Madison.
The invited speaker for the workshop is Dr. Caroline A. Niziolek, Assistant
Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of
Wisconsin–Madison. Her remarks are titled “Language made audible: How speech
acoustics reflect communicative goals.”
Accordingly, this year’s workshop particularly encourages submissions in
phonetics, acoustics, speech science, and communication disorders. However,
submissions are welcome in any field of descriptive, applied, or theoretical
linguistics.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts should be at most one page, with 1 inch margins and 12 point Times
New Roman font. A second page may be included for references and/or data.
Abstracts should not include the author's name or affiliation. Abstracts
should be submitted online via EasyAbs:

The deadline for submission is January 31, 2019. You will be notified of the
status of your submission by February 15.
