Subject: Poetry Comprehension in Natural Languages

 
I would like to know what mental processes are responsible for the
comprehension of poetry in natural languages. 

What are the mechanisms or processes? And how do they work? Which theories can
best describe this event? And if there has been any related research done in
natural languages? Then, I would like to study if poetry (mainly regarding its
phonetic and semantic features) has any influential role in acquiring a first
language, or even in learning a new language.
