ELOPE Vol. 16, No. 1 (2019): The Sounds of English

The spring 2019 issue of ELOPE aims to investigate how the sounds of English
are addressed in research and teaching practice. The authors are invited to
present their work on English phonetics, prosody and phonology, with special
emphasis on contemporary approaches to researching, teaching, learning, and
assessing foreign language pronunciation. Topics addressed can include speech
perception and production, phonetic notation, new technologies in
pronunciation teaching, foreign-accented speech, varieties of English, and
sociolinguistic aspects of spoken English.

The editors warmly invite contributors to submit original research on the
above (and related) topics, and to provide insights from as wide a range of
perspectives, approaches and disciplines as possible. Considered for
publication will be contributions from the domains of (contrastive) language
studies, English language learning and teaching, as well as translation and
literary studies. The volume will be edited by guest editors Dr Ivo Fabijanić
(University of Zadar, Croatia) and Dr Andrej Stopar (University of Ljubljana,
Slovenia).

The language of contributions is English. Papers should be between 5,000 and
8,000 words in length, with an abstract of about 150 words. They should be
submitted electronically and should conform to the author guidelines at
http://revije.ff.uni-lj.si/elope/about/submissions.
Any inquiries can be sent to Andrej Stopar (andrej.stopar at ff.uni-lj.si).
Submission deadline: February 1st, 2019.
