Description:

SoapBox Labs is looking for a Computational Linguist/NLP Engineer to join our
data modelling and evaluation group.

You will work with our team to help us develop and implement novel approaches
to language modelling of children’s speech across a range of languages. We are
looking for enthusiastic and committed candidates who thrive in a dynamic,
self-directed team environment.   

SoapBox Labs are building speech recognition technology for children between
the ages of 4 and 12, enabling device interactions for gaming, learning and
communication. The SoapBox platform allows developers to incorporate our
speech technology solutions into their digital apps, products, and web
services.

Main areas of focus for this role: 
- Language Model Data & Development
- Multilingual NLP Applications
- System Performance Evaluation & Optimisation
- Data Quality Monitoring & Optimisation.

The Skills and Qualifications you need for this role (required):
- PhD/Masters in NLP or Computational Linguistics
- Experience (5+ years) in Language Modelling, NLP or related field
- Experience with deep learning methods and toolkits
- Experience working with speech technologies 
- Experience using scalable methods and infrastructure
- Software engineering experience - scripting languages
- Proven ability to focus on hard problems and develop novel techniques to
tackle them

Skills that would benefit you in this role (desirable):
- Experience building NLU applications
- Experience/knowledge/interest of working with children’s data
- Data Analysis and Machine Learning techniques, use of LSTM-RNN networks
- Experience working with data in languages other than English
