Assistant Professor in English
The English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks an
outstanding teacher-scholar for the English Language and Linguistics (ELL)
Program at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will have
evidence of potential for developing a significant research program within an
English language paradigm on a combination of second language and grammatical
variation, ideally through corpus linguistic or experimental methods. The
candidate will also have secondary interests connected to Global Englishes or
the intersection of language and identity. Experience working with diverse
populations preferred.
The successful candidate will teach four courses per year at the graduate and
undergraduate level; conduct research of nationally recognized quality; advise
and mentor students; and participate in service activities at the department,
college, university and national levels.
