Description:

To strengthen its text-to-speech research and development team in Turin for a
Slovenian Language specialist to support the Slovenian TTS development.
 
Responsibilities: 
- Development of linguistic component for: Tokenization of text normalization,
Letter-to-sound conversion, Phonological modelling, Morphological analysis.
Prosody prediction
- Design, annotation and processing of text corpora and lexica
- Labeling and validation of audio recordings
- Evaluation of Slovenian TTS system

Qualifications: 
Number of Years of Work Experience: 1-2 years (work experience is a plus, but
promising new graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Native speaker of Standard Slovenian
- Solid knowledge in Slovenian phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and
prosody
Excellent communication skills in English (working language)
- Self-starter, fast learner and independent
- Attention to detail and focus on quality

Preferred Skills: 
- Experience in working in speech/NLP in academia or industry
- Basic scripting skills (Python, Perl, command line scripting) 

 
Education: 
Master’s Degree or PhD in (computational) linguistics
