Meeting Description:

We are happy to announce that we will host a Two-day International Conference
on Indigenous Languages, Societies and Cultures of India (ICILSCI-2019) on
University of Hyderabad Campus from 21 to 22 February 2019. 

The main focus of the conference is to bring together researchers,
academicians, scientists and language speakers to deliberate and present their
work on indigenous languages. Our goal is to provide a forum to discuss
various socio-cultural and linguistic aspects and societies of India and
formulate measures for protection and promotion of these languages, societies
and cultures of indigenous people of India. This conference will focus how to
use technology to represent indigenous languages and cultures in cyberspace so
as to effectively disseminate indigenous knowledge of India.

Organized by:

UNESCO Chair - Language Policies for Multilingualism 
Centre for Study of Foreign Languages (CSFL)
University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India


Call for Papers: 

Scholars in Linguistics, Languages, Anthropology and other related disciplines
are encouraged to submit abstracts of their unpublished papers in the
following areas:

Language documentation and archiving
Language ecology and endangerment
Language revitalization and language shift
Dictionary making in indigenous languages
Indigenous languages and orthography development
Indigenous languages and language policy
Indigenous languages and linguistic rights
Indigenous languages and indigenous knowledge
Indigenous languages and culture
Orality, translation and indigenous languages
Indigenous languages: culture and identity
Issues, methodologies and challenges for protecting and promoting indigenous
knowledge.

These areas are only indicative. Submissions in other relevant areas are also
welcome.
