Subject: Traces of Historic Linguistic Traits in Émigrés
It is sometimes argued that in order to find vestiges of historic linguistic
traits no longer present in a given area, one may investigate (descendants of)
émigré communities who were physically isolated from their country of origin
and the processes of language change that subsequently took place there. What
would be some good examples?
Thank you very much in advance.
Respectfully,
Michał B. Paradowski
