Este congreso reune tres Proyectos (grupos de interés particular) de ALFAL
(Asociación de Lingüística y Filología de América Latina:

P14 Romania Nova (Coordinadores: Mary Kato, Francisco Ordóñez y Andrés Saab)
P16 Cuestiones lingüísticas en relación con la diáspora latinoamericana
(Coordinadores: Michael Newman, y Víctor Fernández-Mallat)
Para un congreso de tamaño modesto que se reúne entre los congresos de ALFAL.

The Association of Linguistics and Philology of Latin America (ALFAL) is an
organization that aims to promote progress in theoretical and applied
linguistics and philology in Latin America - in particular  general
linguistics, indigenous linguistics and Portuguese and Spanish linguistics and
philology - as well as literary theory and criticism.
 
To this end, ALFAL supports the exchange of faculty and researchers, sponsors
publications, distributes information and organizes research groups and
periodic international meetings. Members of the ALFAL are all persons and
institutions interested in the aforementioned disciplines. ALFAL runs
triennial International Congresses, maintains the  journals Lingüística and
Cuadernos de Lingüística. The ALFAL was founded in 1974 and our members can be
found on every continent.


Call for Papers:
 
ALFAL has also organized smaller congresses between the major international
one on every continent that Spanish and Portuguese studies can be found. The
basis of the organization of those ALFALitos are the 26 subgroups called
Proyectos, which bring together researchers interested in issues in the
various subdisciplines or areal foci in ​​Linguistics including: Historical
Linguistics, Syntax, Morphology, Phonology, Language Policy, Semiotics, Text
and Speech, Dialectology and Sociolinguistics, Descriptive Studies of
Portuguese and Spanish, Indigenous Languages, etc.
 
In this ALFALito, three projects will be present with coordinators working in
the Northeast of the USA. Each project will have its own program during the
Congress.

The projects are:

- P12 Formal Grammar (Coordinators: José Camacho, Liliana Sánchez and Miguel
Rodríguez Mondoñedo
- P14 Romania Nova (Coordinators: Mary Kato, Francisco Ordóñez and Andrés
Saab)
- P16 Linguistic questions in relation to the Latin American diaspora
(Coordinators: Michael Newman, and Víctor Fernández-Mallat)

Announcement: All those interested in submitting abstracts in the indicated
areas by uploading to the conference site on EasyAbs
(http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/alfalito2019).

A summary of 300 to 500 words
A maximum of two abstracts can be sent: one individual and one with
co-authorship.
