Meeting Description:

The 2019 edition of the Old English Syntax and Semantics Symposium will be
held at the University of La Rioja on November 8-9, 2019. The event focuses on
the linguistic analysis of Old English, mainly in the fields of syntax and
semantics, but contributions are also welcome that deal with Old English from
a variety of perspectives, including phonology, morphology, pragmatics,
literary language, language contact, competition and variation, as well as the
transition to Middle English.


Call for Papers:

Oral presentation proposals are invited in the areas of Old English syntax and
semantics, as well as phonology, morphology, pragmatics, literary language,
language contact, competition, variation, and the transition to Middle
English. Talks should be 20 minutes and will be followed by 5 minutes of
questions. Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words (excluding references)
and a maximum of 2 figures. Abstracts must be submitted completely anonymised
and in PDF format, by 31 August, 2019. All abstracts will be subject to peer
review and notification of acceptance will be sent by September 30, 2019.
