Meeting Description:
The 2020 Conference of the International Society for Historical Lexicography
and Lexicology will be held at the University of La Rioja on June 17-19, 2020.
ISHLL is a society of scholars working on the history of the dictionary, the
making of historical dictionaries, and historical lexicology. ISHLL was
established as a result of the first International Conference on Historical
Lexicography and Lexicology, which took place in Leicester in 2002. Subsequent
conferences have been held at Gargnano del Garda, Italy (2004), Leiden, The
Netherlands (2006), Edmonton, Canada (2008), Oxford, UK (2010), Jena, Germany
(2012), Gran Canaria, Spain (2014), Bloomington Indiana, USA (2016), Santa
Margherita Ligure, Italy (2018), and Leeuwarden-Ljouwert, The Netherlands
(2019).
Call for Papers:
We welcome proposals for both oral presentations and posters on the conference
topic ''Historical Lexicography and Lexicology in the Digital Era: Electronic
Lexicography, Databases and the Semantic Web''; as well as any topic of
historical lexicography, historical lexicology, etymology, historical lexica,
historical thesauri, and historical lexical databases. All papers must be
original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
Oral presentations will be twenty minutes long, followed by a ten-minute
discussion.
Posters will be presented in a plenary session previous to poster sessions.
Each poster author will be assigned a two-minute slot (with one ppt slide) to
offer an overview and to invite delegates to visit their poster. The
recommended poster size is 48'' x 60'', but 36'' x 48'' posters may also be
displayed.
Abstracts (250-300 words, excluding bibliography) should be submitted
electronically through easychair (https://easychair.org/cfp/2020cishll), both
for oral presentations and poster presentations.
Submissions, which will undergo double-blind peer review, must state clearly
the aims, sources, method, results, and conclusions of the undertaking.
Acceptance will be notified by March 17, 2020.
The language of the conference is English.
