Location: The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom
Contact Person: Nathaniel Dziura

Linguistic Field(s): Sociolinguistics
Call Deadline: 10-May-2019
Meeting Description:
Please see the CfP for the upcoming Sheffield Postgraduate Conference in
Linguistics (ShefLingPGC2019). This conference will be aimed at students (MA,
PhD, etc.) and ECRs in linguistics. The theme of the conference will be
Language Variation and Identity - for which we welcome broad interpretations.
We are looking for people who might be interested in presenting at this event
to send abstracts to us by the 10 May, 2019. Students are also welcome to
attend without presenting for an opportunity to learn more about research that
is happening in the field, and to see our plenary talks delivered by Prof
Jennifer Smith (Uni of Glasgow) and Dr Carmen Llamas (Uni of York).
This will be a free event, with lunch and refreshments provided, and will
provide students with a supportive environment in which to present their
research and gain valuable feedback and comments, as well as networking
opportunities to meet peers with similar research interests.
We would be very grateful if you could widely share this with anyone it may be
relevant to.
Thank you!
Johanna Blakey and Nathaniel Dziura
