Description:
Pending on final approval by the Ministery of Education and Research (BMFB),
the Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS) in Berlin invites
applications for a three year postdoc position in the area of language
documentation and language typology for a project on the development of
criteria and standards for the curation of annotated audiovisual language
data.
In collaboration with partners at the Universität Hamburg, the Universität zu
Köln, the Institut für Deutsche Sprache (Mannheim) and the Endangered
Languages Documentation Programme (ELDP, London), the applicant will develop
operational criteria for the curation of annotated audiovisual data, typically
of small languages, that make them accessible for linguistic, in particular
typological, research. Within ZAS, the applicant will work in collaboration
with the DoReCo project (http://www.leibniz-zas.de/doreco.html).
We are looking for a person with experience in language documentation, corpus
building, language archiving, and in language typology and linguistic theory.
A working knowledge of German is a plus.
