Description:
The Doctoral Program in “Humanistic Studies - Literary and Philological
Cultures” at the University of Bologna - Department of Classical Philology and
Italian Studies invites international applications for one 3-year doctoral
position reserved to international candidates (i.e., candidates that earned a
second level Master’s degree in a non-Italian institution, independently of
their personal nationality).
Linguistics is among the disciplines included in the doctoral program for
which it is possible to apply. To see which research areas are covered by
linguists working at the Department see
http://corpora.ficlit.unibo.it/people.html.
The Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies

as a Department of Excellence in 2018 and has been awarded special funding to
foster advanced research and internationalization for the years 2018-2022. The
advertised position is one of the internationalization measures. The written
and the oral exam that are part of the selection procedure can be carried out
in Italian or in English. The doctoral dissertation can be written in English;
however, most of the activities and the administration require willingness to
acquire a working knowledge of Italian.

time). The selection procedures will take place in June and July (precise
dates here:
