Meeting Description:

This conference is the main venue in North America for discussion of
theoretical and theory-driven research in South Asian Linguistics.

(Formal) Approaches to South Asian Languages 10 - (F)ASAL 10 - will be hosted
by the Linguistics Department at OSU, from March 20-22 2020. As the community
of South Asianist linguists expands and evolves over the years, it would like
to reach out to researchers that do high-quality linguistic study of any South
Asian Language adopting a wide range of methodologies. Thus the name change
from FASAL to (F)ASAL! The invited speakers for (F)ASAL 10 will include Rahul
Balusu (EFLU) and Diti Bhadra (University of Minnesota).

This year's (F)ASAL meeting will host a special half-day session focused on
phonetics and phonology (organized by Kelly Berkson (Indiana)and Sameer Ud
Dowla Khan (Reed College). Please submit abstracts related to any aspect of
South Asian phonetics and/or phonology, including but not limited to issues
involving prosody, tone, segmental or suprasegmental phenomena, or
typologically unusual contrasts. Work of many types--descriptive, experimental
(e.g. related to production or perception), sociophonetic, typological,
theoretical, etc.-- is appropriate for submission.
