Meeting Description:
The L2 Pronunciation Research Workshop aims to bring together SLA researchers
interested in L2 pronunciation development from a variety of linguistic,
psycholinguistic, cognitive and teaching perspectives. This event is funded by
the EuroSLA Workshop Grant programme and hosted by the Barcelona L2 Speech
research group, a group of researchers from the University of Barcelona (UB)
and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) working within the fields of L2
speech and pronunciation. The aim of the workshop is to promote discussion on
how methods and findings from research on L2 speech, phonetic training and
phonological acquisition can inform pronunciation teaching practice in
instructed SLA. It also seeks to inspire empirical research on L2
pronunciation teaching and learning in the L2 classroom.
We particularly welcome submissions for oral or poster presentations that
report on original research aiming at bridging the gap between L2 phonetic
training research in the lab and L2 pronunciation teaching and learning in the
classroom. We also encourage submissions that examine specific empirical
questions related to phonetic training, pronunciation instruction methods,
pronunciation assessment and L2 phonological acquisition in instructed SLA.
