Role Summary:
Lionbridge is looking for collaborative Analytical Linguists who will work
with our client’s NLP (Natural Language Processing) team based in New York
City. The work is a combination of machine learning, deep learning, and
pattern-based methods in order to drive our client’s high-quality writing
feedback.

Linguists are essential to improving the quality of their checks, developing
training and evaluation sets for their statistical approaches, and conducting
user experiments. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with NLP research and product teams on key tasks (e.g., annotating
content, performing data quality control).
- Evolve and prioritize ongoing working processes associated with data and
annotation needs (i.e., annotation guideline development, data development,
etc.).
- Work with product teams to improve the feedback provided to the users (e.g.,
oversee portions of our annotation projects with external vendors and
problem-solve where to focus product improvement efforts).

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors, Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Linguistics.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with an excellent grasp of
English grammar and communication. 
- At least 2 years of industry experience as an Analytical Linguist.
- Team player who enjoys annotation, evaluation, and data quality work.
- Some experience with scripting languages (preferably Python) in a Linux
environment.
- Some experience with research processes, and qualitative and quantitative
approaches.
