Description:
The Department of English at Middle Tennessee State University invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English in Linguistics
(123330). Start date for this position is August 1, 2019.
Responsibilities will include teaching introductory linguistics, English
grammar, undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of
expertise and writing and language-related General Education courses.
Successful candidate will have an active research agenda. A Ph.D. in
Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Teaching of English to Speakers of Other
Languages (TESOL), or Second Language Acquisition (SLA) is required at the
time of appointment along with a minimum of two years undergraduate teaching
experience. Candidates with experience in pre-service teacher training will
receive special consideration, as will candidates who have experience with or
interest in online education.
