Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor position in applied
English linguistics in the Department of English. The Department seeks
applicants from any area in the field of applied English linguistics;
candidates whose teaching and research have a strong grounding in digital
literacy and/or world Englishes are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants should have:
- A PhD degree in applied English linguistics; 
- A record of refereed publication; and 
- Relevant undergraduate and postgraduate level teaching experience. 

The following are also desirable:
- A record of successful grant application; 
- Experience in supervising and guiding research postgraduate students; and 
- Relevant administrative experience.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years
initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term
appointment or substantiation later.
