Meeting Description:

The Language and Linguistics Student Conference (LLSC) is a student-driven,
student-centered, international conference at the University of Central
Oklahoma in Edmond, OK. This conference is free and open to the public. We
accept submissions and panel proposals from any student enrolled in at least
3-credit hours at an accredited college or university (undergraduate,
graduate, and doctorate students).

When: Saturday, November 9, 2019
Where: Nigh University Center | University of Central Oklahoma | Edmond,
Oklahoma

Abstract submission deadline: Midnight on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019
Acceptance notification: No later than Friday, Oct. 4, 2019
Registration deadline: Monday, Oct. 21, 2019

Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit abstracts for
individual presentations, co-presentations, and organized panels. Individual
presentations and co-presentations should be 10-12 minutes.

Panel presenters may select a 50-60 minute time block. Presentation topics may
include but are not limited to, relationships between and among language,
linguistics, and many applications in:

natural and artificial languages,
indigenous languages,
extinct and endangered languages,
American Sign Language (ASL),
speech pathology and hearing sciences,
language and cognition,
theoretical and applied linguistics,
structural, semantic, or phonological analyses,
comparative grammars,
discourse/text analyses,
rhetoric, the arts, literature, and the humanities,
foreign languages, and,
academic, pedagogical, cultural and sociological constructs.

I. How to Submit
All abstracts will go through a blind review. Submissions should be sent as an
e-mail attachment in MS Word format to the LLSC Committee at
langconf at gmail.com by midnight Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019.* Please title your
presentation at the top of your abstract. Do not put your name or any other
personal identifying information on your abstract. Please put your name,
contact information, school, major, etc., in the body of your e-mail.

*Please note, late submissions will not be accepted this year.

II. What Your Submission Should Consist Of
Individual presentations and co-presentations should consist of a titled
abstract of no more than 150 words in MS Word format.

Panel submissions should be sent as a single document containing the title of
the panel and a description of the panel's focus of no more than 200 words. If
appropriate, panelists may submit a titled abstract of no more than 150 words
along with the panel submission. All submissions should be in MS Word format.

III. What Your Presentation Should Consist Of
Presentations may be readings or visual presentations such as PowerPoint,
Google Slides, Prezi or handouts. All PowerPoint presentations or slides
should be PC-compatible.*

Individual presentations and co-presentations should be no longer than 10-12
minutes (see section II for more).
Panel presentations should be no longer than 60-65 minutes (see section II for
more).

*Please note, no poster presentations will be allowed.

IV. Requirements
The LLSC is an international conference open to any and all students
(undergraduate, graduate and doctorate) enrolled in at least 3-credit hours at
an accredited college or university or have graduated with a degree no earlier
than December 2018.
