The Editors of the Journal of Pragmatics are delighted to announce the winners
of the journal's two annual awards for 2018:
Jacob L. Mey and Hartmut Haberland Early Career Award: Leopold Hess (Radboud
University Nijmegen, The Netherlands) for his article entitled “Perspectival
Expressives”, available on ScienceDirect at

The editors are also pleased to announce the runner-up as Afef Labben (Faculty
of Human and Social Sciences of Tunis) for her article entitled “Face and
identity in interaction: A focus on Tunisian Arabic” available on

Neal R. Norrick Special Issue Award: Maria Sifanou and Pilar Garcés-Conejos
Blitvich (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and
University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA) for their special issue
entitled “(Im)politeness & Globalization”, available on ScienceDirect at

The winning article is open access and so is freely available for all readers.
The runner-up article and Special Issue guest editorial will be freely
available until 27 June 2020.
