Meeting Description:

The University of Oregon is pleased to host the 48th annual meeting of New
Ways of Analyzing Variation (NWAV), from October 10 to 13, 2019. NWAV is the
leading conference on language variation and change.

This year's plenary speakers are:
- Renée Blake, New York University
- Alexandra D’Arcy, University of Victoria
- Devyani Sharma, Queen Mary University of London

Call for Papers Information:

Due to technical issues at EasyChair yesterday, the deadline for abstracts for
NWAV 48 (https://nwav48.uoregon.edu) is being extended until the end of day
(anywhere on Earth) on Monday June 3rd.

Explanation and important information for submitters:

While many abstracts have been received without trouble, some people were not
able to submit on (or around) May 30, 2019. EasyChair notified us in the
afternoon that they were having network speed issues and the problem seems to
have been particularly acute for larger files (so e.g. for submissions that
included figures or for special sessions). Late last night we received word
from EasyChair that the problem is solved so we hope that there are no more
issues on this front.

If you have submitted an abstract to NWAV and did not receive an automatic
confirmation email from the EasyChair system, please go back to EasyChair and
check to make sure that your abstract was submitted. If you received an
automated email then know that your abstract was received. We are extending
the deadline a couple of days, so submitters have a chance to check that their
abstracts were submitted, or in case people's timing was impacted by this
technical issue.

The Call for Papers itself is unchanged other than the deadline extension.
Please see https://nwav48.uoregon.edu or the earlier LinguistList post
(https://linguistlist.org/issues/30/30-1526.html) for details about the Call
for Papers.
