Job Location: Berlin, Germany
Web Address: http://www.leibniz-zas.de/
Job Title: Researcher
Job Rank: Post Doc
Specialty Areas: Anthropological Linguistics; Language Documentation; Semantics; Syntax; Typology
Description:
The Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS) in Berlin,
www.leibniz-zas.de, invites applications for two 3-year postdoctoral
positions for linguists with methodological qualifications in field
linguistics and language documentation and archiving of understudied
languages, and a research record in syntax and/or morphology, with additional
interests in semantics, pragmatics, phonology, lexicography or
sociolinguistics. We are looking in particular for researchers with a
background in theoretical linguistics and cross-linguistic research.
Please submit per e-mail a letter of intent that states the nature of your
interest in the position, the expertise that you could contribute and the
research topics that you would like to pursue at ZAS. Please also provide a CV
detailing your academic education, past and current positions, publications,
presentations and other professional activities. Also, provide names and
e-mail addresses for two persons that may be able to send letters of
reference, but do not send these letters with your application. Please send
your applications in one single pdf file to Artemis Alexiadou at the
application email provided below, header: ZAS language documentation + your
last name.
The position is to be filled in accordance with the German
Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz. This means that we expect applicants
relatively early in their career (essentially, dissertation defense not
earlier than 2017, not counting parental leaves) that have a goal of further
qualifying themselves (e.g., a professorship). Please make clear in your
application letter that you would satisfy these requirements.
ZAS is an equal opportunity employer.
