Call Deadline: 30-Nov-2019
Meeting Description:
Theme: Language contact and change in an interconnected world
The conference theme is chosen to explore the interesting and multiple
linguistic spaces that we all share in our ever-interconnected world. We live
in a time of great linguistic and cultural diversity and other ecopolitical
manifestations that impact the study of language and linguistics in both
urbanised and more rural settings. In light of these developments, and the
presumed increasing contact between various languages in our interconnected
world, the conference invites a dialogue that reflects on these issues.
Keynote Speakers:
- Professor Lutz Marten - School of Oriental and African Studies, University
College London
- Professor Hagit Borer - Chair in Linguistics, Queen Mary, University of
London
- Professor Karen Corrigan - School of English Literature, Language and
Linguistics, Newcastle University

Sciences, the University of Edinburgh
- Dr Hannah Gibson - Department of Linguistics, University of Essex
